August 14th

My Pa's first official day in Sitka! We didn't set an alarm and slept until 2:00 p.m.! I guess we both needed it. For lunch I prepared pancakes and even climbed out my window to pick fresh Huckleberry's. They tasted absolutely wonderful with maple sirup. We walked through the National Park and stopped at the bridge on Sawmill Creek Road to observe Indian River and the hundreds of Pink Salmon below. That encouraged us to make our way downtown where we purchased week fishing license and spinners.

I introduced Dad to Roma's and Lisa tonight. Remembering my face, Lisa asked where the others were as I frequently dinned at Roma's with the group. I explained to her that today was a special day because my father was in town to visit. Pa and I ate dinner while watching the ravens and pigeons scurry across the rooftops, mountains in the distance.
